Tanya is a Canadian/Australian, full-time, contemporary artist who lives and works for part of the year in British Columbia, Canada and the remainder of the year in Perth, Western Australia.
Tanya traded in a career in Psychology to major in printmaking at the Alberta College of Art and Design. After nurturing two children and travelling the globe, she immigrated with her family to Western Australia in 2000 and now holds dual Citizenship.
Her work celebrates joy in the unforeseen through a riot of color, relationships and patterns. As a self confessed color freak, Tanya works intuitively to express a compelling, abstracted interpretation of what she sees and feels. By incorporating texture, collage, and mixed media she builds a multilayered story that cleverly draws the viewer in to take a closer look.
Tanya travels back and forth between the two continents each year. She can’t quite believe that she lives in a ‘perpetual summer’. She also speaks fluent Canadian and Australian English. Fair dinkum, eh?
Tanya has exhibited extensively and her work is enjoyed in numerous corporate and private collections in Canada, USA, Australia and UK.
